Police dog doing well after surgery with 1% survival rate

COMPETED WITH HER BROTHER JONATHAN TIEING FOR SIXTH IN 2006. A MIRACLE POLICE DOG WENT BACK TO SEE THE DOCTORS WHO SOMEHOW SAVED HIS LIFE. WESH 2’S DAN BILLOW TOLD US THAT IDOL A GERMAN SHEPHERD IS GOING BACK ON THE JOB WITH HIS RELIEVED OFFICER AFTER SURGERY THAT HAS A ONE PERCENT SURVIVAL RATE. IDOL A SIX-YEAR-OLD GERMAN SHEPHERD IS LOOKING PRETTY GOOD CONSIDERING WHAT HE WENT THROUGH LAST WEEK. AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED HE SHOULDN’T BE ALIVE. THE DOCTOR PERFORMED EMERGENCY SURGERY ON IDOL FOR A TWISTED COLON. HE HAD SHOWN FEW SYMPTOMS AND HIS PARTNER OFFICER DAN ELLIS DIDN’T REALIZE HOW BAD HE WAS UNTIL HE TOOK HIM TO THE VET AND WAS TOLD THE DOG MIGHT NOT SURVIVE LONG ENOUGH TO BE OPERATED ON MUCH LESS SURVIVE THE OPERATION ITSELF. I WAS TORE UP ON THAT MONDAY. IT WAS A VERY, VERY TOUGH DAY FOR ME. BUT IDOL NOT ONLY SURVIVED, HE’S ALREADY BACK ON HIS FEET. ELLIS TOOK HIM BACK TO THANK THE DOCTORS TODAY. OFFICER ELLIS CAN REMEMBER SEVERAL TIMES WHEN IDOL HAS COME TO HIS AID. ONCE IDOL WENT AFTER A VIOLENT MAN HOLED UP IN THE WOODS WITH A KNIFE. HE PHYSICALLY APPREHENDED HIM AND WE ENDED UP PULLING HIM OUT OF THE WOODS WHERE THE OFFICERS COULD GET HANDS ON HIM. THE DOG IS A PHENOMENAL DOG. I BELIEVE IT WAS A DIFFERENT KIND OF DOG HE WOULD NOT HAVE LIVED. IDOL AND ELLIS GO BACK TO
