  • NL will burn up in a changing climate thanks to these men bickering back and fourth about who's going to make the money off the offshore. the only thing on its way forward are the hurricanes coming up from the gulf.

  • "The main parties were chosen because they all hold seats in the house of commons" So NLAlliance will never be allowed to debate until they receive a seat with absolutely no media coverage.

  • I LOVE ALISON!!. SHE HAS A Brilliant MIND!!. HIGHLY intelligent !!. SHE ONLY LIVES A FEW BLOCKS AWAY, LOTS OF HUGS ALISON!!

  • My friend told me Mr. Turtle and Dwight Ball spent the entire time arguing. I thought he was joking.

  • I don't really know what to make of this debate, but my first impression is that Coffin's performance looks more like an SNL act. Crosbie looked the most sincere, but also the least energetic (his supporters may take that as being in control). I have to give this one to Ball for at least having the energy, the seriousness, and most importantly, the corner on the left-wing because voters won't take Coffin seriously.

  • While this was interesting to view with respect to deciding the next four political years of our great province, I do feel that more non-scripted introduction and closing remarks could have added more value to the sincerity the candidates wanted to portray. When leaders (and prospective leaders) read from scripts, then I wonder if they are really genuine. Perhaps its to keep their thoughts aligned – it just lowers my faith in their ability to express their true thoughts. Did anyone else notice Ches Crosby's hand gestures like Donald Trumps?

In my opinion, Alison Coffin (while theatrical at times) was the most passionate and realistic debater, as she was getting into the weeds of our real problems. That said, we have to be realistic with respect to who (and what party) can soundly lead our province out of the Muskrat Falls financial blunder (that affects all areas of our survival), and take us to a place where we can breath again. Perhaps its time to move our political model (temporarily) to one where all parties work as a team to look after the interests of all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians, to get us the just gain and respect for what we have given up for the benefit of Canada…. and the personal interests of some past leaders. Lets also not forget that Labrador, the big land, is one of our greatest resources, and we have to stop draining and not giving back.

We live in the greatest province in Canada, one of character and perseverance. Its time for others to come and value what we give, as opposed to us needing help after giving it all away. Our mass resources can sustain our future, and enhance the prosperity of our province; and we will only prosper if we control it. That's my future election campaign. Just saying.

  • typical nlpoli debate: liberal and PC leaders talk over each other and the NDP offering empty words. CBC NL NTV and the telegram decided to exclude NL Alliance from the debate plus to sideline the VOCM (voice of the common man). these parties and media don't care about the common person, only the rich famous and powerful

  • What a biased post-modern socialist leftist questions and talking points from the "independent" and "impartial" media (CBC, Telegram and NTV) and their journalists! Give me a break!

  • Blah blah blah blah blah and more blah blah blah blah ……" If voting actually worked , It wouldn't be legal " Mark Twain

  • Newfoundland has a bad reputation for their politicians being more concerned about their personal ventures and not the tax payer!!
Dwight ball should do jail-time for his back-door deal with canopy growth.

  • NO PARTY STATUS FOR THE LIBERAL.. YOU CAN DO IT NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR..LETS MAKE CANADA GREAT AGAIN..=)
