Crooks rob Upper West Side man of his PlayStation, cellphone – and dog – during home invasion: cops


Two crooks busted their way into an Upper West Side apartment and robbed a man and his girlfriend at knife point Friday morning, police said  The 21-year-old victim was sleeping with his girlfriend around 6:30 a.m. when he was awakened by the home invasion, cops said Robbers busted through the front door of the W. 83rd St. apartment near Columbus Ave armed with a butcher knife. Advertisement  The burglars threatened the man and during a struggle the victim suffered a cut to his face, police said The girlfriend was uninjured. Cops said the crooks then made off with a PlayStation 4, a debit card and a cellphone They also took the man’s service dog, a chocolate Labrador named Nela. However, they apparently left the dog behind once they were outside, which is where police found the canine  The smashed PlayStation was also found on the sidewalk outside the building.  The thieves were described as two Hispanic males Anyone with information is encouraged to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477)
